FULL TIME OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR POSITION UNADILLA GEORGIA

ESG Operations Inc. is currently seeking a candidate for a fulltime Operations Supervisor in the City of Unadilla Project.

This position is a full time permanent position which will assist the Project Manager and oversees day to day operations of the Water plants and Wastewater treatment and Land Application System. This includes, but not limited to oversight of collection and testing of samples, general maintenance and repairs of equipment related to Water and Wastewater plants, process control and chemical adjustments and some collection and distribution and personnel management and other duties assigned by Project Manager.

Some weekend work may be required. This is a salary position and commensurate with experience. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to advance. Prefer Class III Water and Wastewater or higher, but will train if candidate possess strong work ethic, good computer skills, C&D operational skills and strong leadership qualities.

Water System Manager

 

Full Time Position
Water System Manager

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Water System Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring quality drinking water for the customers of both the North and South Monroe County Water systems which includes approximately 3200 customers and growing.

Work involves overseeing the collection of data, reviewing and submitting monthly and annual water quality reports, customer billing and accounts receivable records, reviewing contract documents, engineering plans, maps and various forms, as well as accurate record keeping per Environmental Protection Division requirements. The incumbent works with water testing, subcontractors as well as County water system field personnel in achieving water quality goals. County government experience preferred but not necessary.

Minimum job training or requirements include 3 to 5 years similar work experience. Salary is commensurate with experience.

MAJOR DUTIES
This position is responsible for performing installation, repair, and maintenance of the water distribution system.
Checking wells, tanks, and booster pumping stations; adding chemicals as needed.
Collecting water samples for analysis by state laboratory.
Repairing cut or damaged water lines and roads.
Installing and repairing water line taps.
Installing, maintaining, and reading water meters.
Locating water line leaks.
Locating water lines for crews and other utility companies.
Responding to emergency service calls as required.
Preparing reports.

SECONDARY DUTIES Repairing and maintaining equipment.
Repairing and maintaining vehicles.
Performing snow removal operations.
Performing other public works duties as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIRED
Knowledge of methods and practices of installing, maintaining, and repairing water mains and lines.
Knowledge of state and federal guidelines relating to the operation of water distribution system.
Skill in laying pipe.
Skill in the use of such equipment as water testing equipment, chemical pumps, backhoe, dump truck, tractors, mowing equipment, wood chipper, snow plow equipment, compaction roller, chain saws, pavement saws, and various hand tools as required.
Skill in supervision.
Skill in performing standard mathematical calculations.
Skill in oral and written communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education or equivalent.
Possession of state-certified water distribution license III or higher.
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with 1 to 3 years experience.
Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
Ability to work safely.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.
Valid Georgia Driver’s License and CDL certification or the ability to obtain one.
