WATER DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR WALTON COUNTY

This position is appointed and serves under the general direction of the Chairman and the Walton County Board of Commissioners. The Water Department Director is responsible for the management, direction, organization and supervision of the county's water operations, utility billing, customer service, and proposed reservoir build-out. Performs related activities to ensure adequate, safe and efficient water supply for the County. Works with engineering firms and other consultants on proposed water projects, assists with technical bid specifications, project work orders, change orders and related documents as needed. Coordinates prioritization and scheduling of projects with the Board of Commissioners and wholesale water customers.

Minimum qualifications required: Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or civil engineering from an accredited college or university, with 5 to 8 years in performing related duties in business and management of water utilities. Must have successfully completed required courses and certification, such as Water Distribution Operator from the State of Georgia; may be required to obtain additional certification(s) as deemed necessary by the County. Must have a valid Georgia driver's license. Equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities will be considered.

Water Treatment Plant Operator

The City of Summerville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Water Treatment Operator at our water treatment facilities. This is a full time position. This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Class 111 or above Water Treatment Plant Operators License.

You must have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years of age. An employee in this position is expected to have good work habits, be honest, dependable, take pride in their work and have a good work history. Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs on an as needed basis, walk up and down stairs, and are able to wear a respirator when needed. This individual must be able to work without direct supervision. Applicant must be able to work any shift, weekend and holidays as needed.

An employee in this position must be in good health and in excellent physical condition; drug screening and background check will be required. Wages are negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience. Excellent benefit package included.

Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator - The City of Sardis, is currently accepting applications for a full time Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. This position is responsible for operating the WWTP and Drinking Water Facility, to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and Federal environmental requirements, including performing daily rounds, assisting with equipment repairs, water leak repairs and troubleshooting and correcting operational problems.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, Georgia Class IV or higher. A current Georgia Driver's License, experience operating heavy equipment, minimum of one year of professional experience in the operation and the maintenance of water and or wastewater treatment facilities and must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Georgia Class III or higher Wastewater Certification, knowledge of computer operation and general math skills are a plus. Must be able to work well with others and supervise other employees in the water and sewer and street department.
